The poppy has long been a symbol of remembrance, making this elegant tea cosy by Monica Russel a thoughtful project to knit for November. Combining intarsia, stranding and simple shaping, the pattern also includes a bonus tea cosy with textured bobbles and cheerful stripes.

Yarn: stripe cosy: Artesano Aran, (A) shade CA03 Maple, (B) shade C024 Dawn, (C) shade C809 Nightfall, one 100g skein of each; poppy cosy: (A) Artesano Alpaca DK, shade 5340 Brazil, (B) Artesano Aran, shade CA03 Maple, (C) Manos del Uruguay Wool Clasica, shade 2106 Ganges, one 100g skein of each; (D) Artesano Aran, shade 5570 Fleet, 1.6m length
Needles: 4mm straight (for both); 4mm, double-pointed (for Poppy only)
